Duties: Perform CEHA compliance, enforcement and monitoring activities, inspections, and investigations of public and private facilities to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of permits and regulatory requirements. Prepare investigative reports and enforcement documents. Prepare evidence and participate in hearings and court actions. Provide timely and adequate responses to complaints. Respond to hazardous materials incidents as part of the County HazMat Team and other related duties as required.  Will be required to utilize various electronic and/or manual environmental testing equipment and recording and information systems used by the Office of Health Management.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in environmental compliance programs that includes inspections, investigations, testing surveys, and/or enforcement activities, one (1) year of which shall have been in the gathering of legally significant evidence and/or the collection of data and samples involving the operation of measuring, recording, and/or testing equipment.
Requirements: Possession of an Associate’s Degree in the natural, chemical, biological or environmental sciences or engineering technology may be substituted for the required experience listed above.  Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Candidates must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
